Custom Metal Fabrication

Integrated Manufacturing for Complex OEM Projects

WHEN A CUSTOM SOLUTION IS NEEDED

Solutions for Complex Manufacturing Requirements

Customized manufacturing is most valuable when a project cannot be solved efficiently through a single standard process. Custom metal fabrication means the process route is defined for the part rather than the part being adapted to a fixed process. This applies when a component needs machining and forming. Custom manufacturing at Flexcision starts from the drawing, combining machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, finishing and assembly as the part requires.

How We Build a Custom Manufacturing Solution

How We Build a Custom Manufacturing Solution

We evaluate design, materials, tolerances, processes and production requirements to define the most suitable manufacturing route for each project.

01

Understand the Requirement

Review drawings, functional requirements, tolerances, materials and production targets.

02

Define the Manufacturing Strategy

Select the most suitable combination of machining, sheet metal, welding, finishing and assembly processes.

03

Validate Manufacturability

Identify manufacturing risks, optimize critical features and confirm the production approach.

04

Integrate Production

Coordinate multiple processes, suppliers and production stages within one project.

05

Control Quality & Delivery

Manage inspection, documentation, traceability and delivery according to project requirements.

The five steps support both pre-production review and ongoing production rather than operating as a separate consulting stage. The initial steps are carried out during drawing and manufacturability review to assess the manufacturing route, critical features and potential risks. The later steps continue through production and inspection. If a design revision is introduced during the project, the relevant review steps are repeated as needed so that the manufacturing process remains aligned with the latest approved drawing.

TYPICAL CUSTOMIZED PROJECTS

Typical Project Types

Complex Precision Components

Parts requiring multiple machining or finishing processes.

Mechanical Sub-Assemblies

Multiple manufactured components assembled according to customer drawings.

Custom Equipment Structures

Sheet metal, machined and welded components integrated into one structure.

Prototype-to-Production Projects

Support from early validation through repeat production.

Typical custom projects include four main types.Complex precision components are single parts that pass through several machining or finishing operations. Mechanical sub-assemblies are built from multiple manufactured parts joined according to the customer drawing. Custom equipment structures combine sheet metal, machined and welded components into one frame or enclosure. Prototype-to-production projects progress from initial quantities to serial production with the manufacturing route and inspection requirements reviewed and adjusted as needed at each stage.

Why Flexcision

Why Flexcision

One Project, Multiple Processes

CNC machining, sheet metal, welding, finishing and assembly coordinated within one project.

Fewer Supplier Interfaces

Reduce the need to manage multiple manufacturing suppliers across different processes.

Engineering Before Production

Manufacturing risks are reviewed before production to improve feasibility and project stability.

Consistent Quality & Traceability

Inspection, documentation and traceability are managed throughout the manufacturing process.

For a custom project this matters at the interfaces. When a machined bracket, a welded frame and a finished enclosure belong to one assembly, the interface tolerances are defined against the applicable drawing revision and inspected according to the same approved project requirements. If the design changes, the affected requirements are reviewed against the latest approved drawing.Coordinating the processes within one project helps reduce supplier handovers and keeps change control in one place.

Discuss Your Custom Manufacturing Project

Send us your drawings and project requirements for a manufacturing review.

A custom manufacturing project starts with a technical review. Parts are built to print, so drawings or 3D models can be submitted with tolerances, materials, finish and target quantities, and the engineering team defines the process route, confirms manufacturability and states the inspection and documentation scope before quotation. Prototype and series production projects are reviewed according to their specific requirements, with the manufacturing route and inspection plan adjusted as needed as the project progresses from validation to production.
